The Vicious Cycle of Eating Nutrient Poor
There is a genuine Food Revolution going on right now. People are finally realizing that there is a problem with the way our society is eating, and how the obesity and chronic disease statistics are steadily increasing each year—and they are making changes. There are loads of “healthy” cooking shows, diet plans and diet books out there. Open almost any magazine, and you can learn how to burn belly fat.
Everyone is looking for answers. The problem is that majority of the answers they are getting are wrong, because most people, including many experts, don’t know what it truly means to eat nutrient-rich, and therefore never solve the primary problem—which is everyday people are stuck in the vicious cycle of eating up to 90% and in some cases even more nutrient-poor foods.
The most nutrient poor diet in the world is the Standard American Diet. It's over 62.5% refined foods, over 25.5% animal products and only 12% plant produce of which most is french fries and potatoes. Having eaten the SAD “nutrient poor” Standard American Diet for far too long, people gain weight and lose their health, only to then default to...
weight loss-only diets, where the focus is on nutrient manipulation like eating low calories, low fat or low carbohydrate so that they can lose weight, but in the process end up "dieting", being hungry and degrading their health. When they finally wake up they then start to eat healthier but end up eating...
half-baked healthier diets that may be better, but are still nutrient poor and loaded with refined and added salt, oil and sugar and they stay trapped in food addictions, basically eating a healthier version of the Standard American Diet! When they don't get the desired results, it's wash rinse repeat, the same cycle over and over again.
The good news is that there really is a way to lose weight naturally, by eating in a genuinely healthy way that promotes all of healthy success results anyone could want—and everyone can enjoy, but only IF you make a fundamental Switch from nutrient-poor to eating nutrient-rich superfoods, and build a nutrient rich body.
This is why we refer to the changes people are making as "making the Switch to Rich—it’s all about helping people make the what is truly a Switch from eating predominantly nutrient-poor foods to a More Plant-Based Nutrient Rich® way to eat that’s comprised of foods, meals and menus. To build a nutrient rich body, you need to eat up to 90% or more plant based nutrient-rich vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds and whole grains that are eaten in a way optimized for nutrients, volume, variety and of course great taste, free of addictive substances so that you can eat the right amount of calories for you, when you are truly hungry.
Nutrient-rich vegetables and fruits and other foods of plant origin are no longer the side dish, they now need to be considered the main dish because that’s where all the nutrients are, if there is any hope of our population pulling out the downward health spiral it’s in.
Making the Switch to Rich will you build a healthier, younger looking, stronger, and longer living Nutrient Rich Body.
There is no one diet that fits all and that there are many healthier diet styles out there. But, there is a quality standard for healthy eating that does fit all and it is called “nutrient rich,” and it will help you optimize the way you eat, no matter what your current eating style. Nutrient Rich is what it means to eat healthy.
