The site also offers Mollenhauer’s Switch to Rich Digest, a Blog of well-written and researched relevant articles and current event commentary, on this revolutionary new eating style; a delicious and nutritious line of raw, whole, organic super food nutrition products at The Rezealiant Living Store; a comprehensive support system; and a healthy Recipe Database that is second to none! It is the culmination of his life’s work—and it shows! John Allen has wrapped it all up into the simplest and most direct path to success!

The beauty of the nutrient-rich way of eating and living is that you can eat Vegetarian or Vegan or not, gluten-free or not, organic or not, low calorie or not, low fat or not, and even low-carb or not--and still be eating the Nutrient Rich Way. It is an eating style that starts with optimizing the foods and meals you eat for nutrient density, variety, volume and great taste, free of addictive substance so you eat the right amount of calories for you, when you are truly hungry.

It is based on the emerging body of nutritional research that demonstrates the healing powers of higher-micro-nutrient per-calorie foods that detoxify the body, promote natural weight loss, dramatically improve health, reverse disease, and promote slower aging, a younger look and a longer life.

This is not a one-diet-fits-all approach; rather, nutrient-rich healthy eating is a normal and natural way to eat that is designed to meet all of your needs, all the time, including Great Taste!

“This is not just a website—it is a complete healthy eating system that starts delivering the minute you subscribe,” states Mollenhauer, a nutrition education trainer and performance lifestyle coach.

When people enter the site, they are invited to download a very revealing guide called, Wow, I Thought I Was Eating Healthy! Have You Tricked Yourself into ‘Believing’ You’re Eating a Healthy Diet? A must read, as it illuminates the 9 ‘healthier’ diet tactics that are causing us to gain weight, drain our energy and age faster.

After reading this insightful Guide, users are then invited to take a Personal Diet Quality (PDQ) Assessment, which provides them with a Nutrient Rich® Healthy Eating Score, and recommendations for improvement, as well as a fun icon that inspires users to take the way they eat to a whole new level.

Next they get The Nutrient Rich Healthy Eating Plan, which is available in printed and digital formats including .pdf, and .epub and .noki for Ipad, Nook and Kindle ereaders, etc., and consists of:

Step 1: Switch to Rich—Nutrient Rich® Healthy Eating

Step 3: Simple, Quick & Easy™ Nutrient Rich® Recipes (created by Chef Ramses Bravo)

Step 4: How to Lose Weight the Nutrient Rich® Way!

The Plan also comes coupled with an extensive Membership Site, which includes online and phone support, a Member Forum, Training and Q&A Calls, with John Allen, and much, much more, as well as a free 300-gram, 30-day supply of Rezealiant "Living Feast" —the great-tasting, whole food, nutrient-rich low-calorie way to fill up, and also speed up body detoxification and natural weight loss!

After many years of being on the path of improving his eating and overall lifestyle, while developing a new worldview on how to live a healthy lifestyle successfully, and be better able to achieve your goals, known as Performance Lifestyle®, John Allen wanted to establish a new standard of eating. Naturally, he arrived at eating nutrient rich because, as John Allen says, “All paths of dietary practice eventually lead to nutrient-rich healthy eating.”

Mentored early on, by Joel Fuhrman, MD, a leading physician and high-nutrient density nutrition researcher, John Allen became a consummate student on the subject and ultimately launched nutrientrich.com, and was one of the first in the world to begin defining how to eat in a nutrient-rich way.

John’s approach is fresh, modern and to the point. His clear and direct message fully explains what it means to eat "nutrient rich"—the buzz term for healthy eating that we have been hearing so much about these days, which is based on the cornerstone of nutrition called, "nutrient density.”

Mollenhauer says, “When I first caught wind of this idea, I didn’t approach it from a weight loss-only or an "eating healthier" motivation because, as a former body-builder, I had already traveled those paths and knew they didn’t provide sustainable results. Rather, I wanted to find the healthiest and most successful way to eat, and make that ‘The New Normal’ for people who were clearly suffering from hidden lifestyle challenges that were holding them back—the biggest of which, was how they were eating!”

And thanks to his tireless work this healthy eating style is finally being discovered by a whole new generation of people! However, John Allen admits that he did not discover this eating style all on his own and clearly acknowledges that The Nutrient Rich® Healthy Eating Style and Plan were developed on the shoulders of giants—all of whom cleared the way by heroically doing the long-term studies, clinical work and research on plant-based nutrition and lifestyle intervention, as the way to live disease free. Throughout his career, John Allen has had the leadership and mentoring of many of these leading health and performance professionals, several of whom he now calls close friends, and many of whom are members of The Lifestyle Health and Science Advisory at nutrientrich.com. John simply mined all of the information and ideas he could find, taking the best of the best to create The Complete Nutrient Rich® Healthy Eating Plan and Lifestyle Support System—the most direct path to success.

Nutrient-Rich eating is The Great-Tasting Healthy Way to Eat that delivers what he has coined as The 7 Success Results Every Body Wants—detoxification, natural weight loss, optimized health and performance, reversal of life-style induced diseases (being overweight, heart disease, and diabetes, etc.), slower aging, looking younger and maximized longevity.

“Eating nutrient rich is not a fad—once you discover it, you can’t go back,” adds Mollenhauer, CEO, Nutrient Rich Life., Inc.

"I can only imagine starting from this place when I began my search for the healthiest and most successful way to eat,” says John Allen, with a smile.

John Allen Mollenhauer invites the public to check out http://nutrientrich.com, where they can take their time in understanding this amazing new eating style, by reading and discovering their own paths to Nutrient Rich® Healthy Eating!

The post Develop a “New Normal” Healthy Eating Style You Can Call Your Own appeared first on Nutrient Rich.

So here's an article that seems so unsuspectingly a great benefit to you. It's talking about eating more "Nutrient-Rich foods", when the reality is, while it is sending a great message about nutrient rich foods up front, it's a Trojan horse for nutrient poor foods, and could give you a heart attack!

"Nutrient-Rich" Foods

I keep hearing about "nutrient-rich" foods. Do you have any ideas on how I could incorporate more into my diet?

Choosing more nutrient-rich (or "nutrient-dense") foods is how you can get more bang for the buck -- or really, more bounce for the ounce -- from the foods you eat from every good group.

Calorie for calorie, these foods provide a rich amount of nutrients (such as vitamins and minerals) and contain few, if any, saturated fats, trans fats and added sugars. For example, a cup of 1 percent milk contains 100 calories and offers a wide variety of nutrients: calcium, vitamin D, vitamin A, riboflavin and phosphorus, and also a good amount of protein, vitamin B12 and selenium. Compare that to a cup of non-diet soft drink, which has about the same number of calories but no nutrients to speak of.

nutrientrich.com:

The problem with the referenced article is that it IS a "Trojan Horse". Do you have that picture in your mind? Enemy soldiers hid in a Trojan Horse that was given as a gift to the King of Troy. He accepted it and was then attacked from the inside when the enemy soldiers disembarked the horse.

Well, it's not different with the definition for nutrient rich foods that has been offered up by the Naturally Nutrient Rich Coalition and the new "MyPyramid", which promote steps to a healthier you.

Note: It's clear that you were to follow these steps as compared to the standard American diet (SAD and lifestyle, you will probably be a great deal healthier. That's not in dispute with this commentary. I applaud Government actions on this front. Just remember that the government is about maintaining a healthy economy and political interests as a priority over your health, which is why you need to beware of how you define nutrient rich or "nutrient dense" foods.

In the case of the new pyramid it's a Trojan Horse of nutrient poor foods, that are scientifically substantiated to clog your arteries, promote cancer, make it harder to stabilize your weight, speed up aging, and shorten longevity. The reference is to substantial intake of animal products and refined foods (grains in particular).

Originally there were the four food groups, which are now old. People got fat, eating foods high in animal products and refined grains at the base of the diet. Then came the new term "Nutrient Rich" or nutrient dense" which naturally gave rise to a plant-based pyramid because plant foods are the only foods that are actually nutrient rich and don't contain those food factors that you don't need from dietary sources.

Yet here's what happened. The same four food groups are now being marketed as "nutrient rich", because of useful but incomplete definition of nutrient rich foods. Animal products and refined foods are rich in some nutrients and marketed as such, but in fact they are nutrient poor being marketed in a nutrient rich wrapper.

See The Food Class System.

Just because a food is rich in some nutrients, 1 or more; does not make it a nutrient rich food. The definition of a Nutrient Rich Foods is far broader and way more powerful.

The effects of how you define nutrient rich foods are nothing short of crucial!

Here is a working definition for Nutrient Rich Foods.

How you incorporate nutrient rich foods into your diet and make the transition successfully, is what The Nutrient Rich Way is all about. The true way to eat to each nutrient rich foods is very different from what most people are learning.

The post Beware of how you define Nutrient Rich or Nutrient Dense foods.

It's eating a diet that is rich in nutrients but does not contain food stuffs that we know cause disease.

I remember years ago, I was talking with my friend Kevin Gianni, from Renegade Health who pointed out the difference between a whole foods diet (which is both plan and animal) in the public definition and a nutrient rich diet.

Albeit, whenever the subject of whole foods comes up, you rarely see a chicken leg on the cover, the reality of things is that many people see meat as a whole food. Similar to plants, anything that is grown and in some people's definition "born" is a whole food.

I don't get too caught up in that battle of concepts, after all in some cases, there isn't that much of a difference between a plant based nutrient rich diet, and a paleo diet, other than the fact that they eat more animal protein than we do, and have a different definition of what a healthy fat is. Of course there are other differences but those are the big two, and that's why we titled Nutrient Rich as the next level in healthy eating.

That conversation with Kevin clearly made the distinction for me, that the nutrient rich or nutrient dense foods approach was a big step up from heating a traditional hunter gatherer diet, free of nutrient barren or junk foods, which many people see as a healthy diet. Clearly it is a healthier diet than the western diet that is over 50% refined foods, and if you didn't eat junk you would be far healthier than the rest of the population.

But what distinguishes a Nutrient Rich diet from any other diet type, (many of which we can thrive on as an omnivorous species for various periods of time) is that when we are eating a nutrient rich diet we focus on eating those foods that provide all the nutrients we need to succeed, and minimize those foods that contain substances our body does not need, along with the obvious of minimizing junk (man made food) if you eat it at all.

We define whole foods as those foods that meet that definition and are not missing whole nutrient categories or contain substances that our bodies do not need.

That's why Nutrient Rich.com besides, being the next level in healthy eating, is also the home of The 90% or More Plant Based Diet Solution.

When you consider that it's very difficult to take nutrients out of the context of food and food out of the context of lifestyle to get a real look at what promotes health, performance and living at or near your ideal weight, what we focus on is eating a diet that we know promotes health and minimize things in our diet that do not promote health or will hinder our ability to function and perform well.

As Michael Pollan describes in his book In Defense of Food, (an I paraphrase) "nutritionism" is the art of taking the focus off the whole food and analyzing individual nutrients and their affect on health and disease.

Even if an animal food where a whole food, analyzing animal fat on disease without looking at all the other factors present in that food source, does little to determine if that food or that nutrient is healthy or not. There are many factors that have to be considered, including the influence of animal protein on human growth and development, before a food is considered a nutrient rich food. (by the way, animal fat nor it's protein is health promoting).

So, when we talk about the next level in healthy eating, the questions on your mind should focus on understanding:

Nutrient density,

Nutrient quality,

Does this food contain what I don't need from dietary sources

Environment impact

Role food in promoting performance

Human additions to that food (steroids, hormones etc)

Eco System

Aging and longevity

Production and transportation costs and their impact

Anatomical compatibility

Bio diversity

Locality

Natural Taste...

Here are a couple facts as discussed in the Certificate of Plant Based Nutrition. Nutritional Fundamentals. by Ronald Lemay

Science supports the premise that there are no nutrients in animal-based foods that are not better obtained by plant-based foods.

Here are some examples, additional to those below, to support this premise:

• Animal-based foods do not have antioxidants; plants have a natural and rich supply of antioxidants.

• Cholesterol is only found in animal-based foods; we do not need to consume it because we produce it.

• Fiber is only available in plant-based foods; it is not found in animal-based foods. Fiber as a part of our diet is necessary for an optimal digestive process.

• Saturated fats are almost exclusively found in animal-based foods. The greater the saturation, the greater chance they are solid in room temperature. Fats solid at room temperature cause health issues.

• Animal-based foods are low in water due to the cooking process that is generally mandatory in their preparation. Plant-based diets have the option of being eaten raw - fruits and vegetable (salads).

• Animal-based protein is associated with tumor growth promotion; plant-based protein is not associated with tumor growth promotion according to The China Study.

• There are no carbohydrates in most animal-based foods: chicken, turkey, beef, tuna, and shrimp have no carbohydrates; this forces the body to convert protein and fat to carbohydrates which is an unnecessary task for the body. Plant-based diets are predominant in carbohydrates: calorie per calorie, as per the USDA database, apples are 95% carbohydrates, bananas are 93% carbohydrates, and Navel oranges are 91% carbohydrates – simple carbohydrates.

Literally speaking, a plant-based diet does not seem to differ from 'being vegan' because a vegan is a person who does not eat or use animal products, and a plant-based diet is described as: of a product from plants (e.g., vegetables, fruits, legumes), as plant-based food) although a plant "based" diet may include small amount of animal products but is largely based in plant foods.
