Keep it Simple Tip #2 – BANANAS

GOING BANANAS…


Creamy, high in potassium and fiber, easily digetible carbohydrate,  comes in it’s own carrying case

Buy a bunch of ripened bananas. Look in your grocery for ripened bananas as they are usually on sale for a lot less per pound.

Peel them and freeze them in a freezer bag or container. You can pull them apart as needed.

Nutrient Rich snacking is that much simpler, quicker and easier with a banana. Here are a few simple things you can do.

  • Eat them plain; they are easy to carry around as they come in thier own container.
  • Eat them frozen for an icy, creamy treat.
  • Roll them in Dr. Fuhrman cocoa powder and chopped nuts and freeze for a delectable dessert treat.
  • Throw them in your shake instead of ice for a thick and creamy consistency.

    An even simpler way to freeze bananas is with the peel on! They don't go brown that way. When you are ready to use one, dunk it in hot water for 2-3 minutes. Then slice off the stem end of the banana and squeeze. The banana slips right out of the peel!
